About Hannah
I love using symbols and metaphors to express my ideas uniquely and creatively. Have you noticed I use the Hummingbird as my logo? The Hummingbird embodies my educational ethos perfectly. The Hummingbird might be small, but it is capable of amazing feats. They can fly great distances and are even able to fly backward, effortlessly adapting to new situations. They are adaptable, willing to step back, observe, look at things from a new perspective, and then quickly shift into action. The Hummingbird is a symbol of resilience mixed with playfulness and optimism. The Hummingbird is unique and associated with success. You cannot be successful doing things the same way as everyone else – you must be vulnerable and willing to do things differently.
Not only does this reflect my ethos to education, it is the attitude I foster in my students. My students develop confidence and the ability to adapt their knowledge to fit various questions. They’re challenged to see ideas from new perspectives. They develop resilience and curiosity about the world. Through the process of tutoring, they learn to embrace feedback, and how to use feedback to improve and develop. I will bring out your inner Hummingbird.
